get Windows defender (from http://www.microsoft.com) and check the start up items, there you can see what running and even disable it!
or right click (or maybe double click) on the icon and go to options > then disable run at start up there (if possible)

go to run and type in msconfig then click on the start up tab take out the tick and apply the pc will reboot for the change.

Yes, "MSCONFIG" in your Run command from the start menu... Then, you will want to go to the "Startup" tab, to the right. Uncheck what yoi dont want starting. BE sure to NOT uncheck yoru firewall.
