You cannot handcarry knives but you can place it in your check-in luggate. No problem with cigarettes but if you plan to bring lighters along, you might have a problem as some airports do not allow you to handcarry lighters.

You can check guns and knives in you checked luggage. You can carry on cigarettes if you want but can't smoke them on the plane.

Aren't all your bags luggage bags?
Which do you mean Hold luggage (that goes in the cargo space of the plane) or Hand luggage (that you carry on-board)?

You can have a knife in your checked luggage, and cigarettes can go in your carry-on, just don't try to smoke them on the plane. Many airports have rooms where smokers can go and smoke.
