Vitamin E works wonders with stretch marks when you're younger and your skin is still so elastic.
Break open a vitamin E capsule and rub it in.
In a few months (you have to do this daily and give it time to work) if you haven't seen the results you hoped for, then opt for a wrinkle serum (the ones they use for aging) and apply that to the problem area.
This will greatly minimize their appearance, but it doesn't smooth them out more "permanently" like Vitamin E does.

retina will help reduce the appearance of stretch marks although you would need to get a prescription from a dermatologist and it cost about $70.00. There are also other chemical peels in grocery stores that are for reducing acne scars this would also help. I recommend neutrogena advanced solutions acne mark fading peel.

their appearance will fade with time... You're right, it doesn't mean that you're overweight, just that you grew really fast... a lot of body builders get them on their arms and chest for the same reason.
You could try some of the pregnancy stretch-mark creams to help fade them, too.

they fade, but you can never completely get rid of them. just use a special strech mark cream. they help.
