You know, the stereotype how all gay guys are into fashion, wear pink, care about their hair, are extremely flamboyant, and talk with a lisp?

It's bad enough some people believe this, but it's even worse than some people think that's how you have to be gay!

I mean come on, we're men! Try to find me a normal guy who actually cares about fashion, haha.

I don't mean to offend anyone who actually does act like this, although I'm sure I did which is why in retrospect I am kind've embaressed I said some stuff.

It just must suck for straight people to not be able to wear pink or like fashion, blahblahblah, without being stereotyped/labeled gay, when they're just flamboyant. That goes for a lot of stuff too.

Not all people believe that way. But when you consider the way gay men are portrayed by hollywood, it's not really shocking to know that a great many do. The gay men who aren't that way, most people assume are straight. I've known several gay men and the truth is, the personalities, likes and tastes cover the same wide range, as they do in the 'hetero' population.

You just answered a question of mine that was " Why are gay men so lovable" You were so mean in your answer. I am not stupid or stereotype people. I love my friends for who they are gay or straight. FYI my gay male friends do not have fashion sense, they are not animated, they are intelligent professionals and do not talk with a lisp.

You seem to be in alot of pain or else you would not have made a rude comment like that. You are either angry, hurt or frustrated. It was a sincere question honest.

I noticed one of your earlier questions that you asked was should I come out? I feel your pain. I can not understand what you are going through but I do understand great adversity, sorrow and pain in life. My answer is Friends. Be with people who genuinely love you and know you. My family has never ever been there for me and that is why my friends are soooooo important. Seek counseling to get through this. You will. I have faith in you.

To answer your question why people stereo type. I am Italian and people think I have connections to the Mafia among other things! I hope you find what you are looking for. I truly do.

This is a society of idiots that cannot grasp the fact that some people are actually individuals and not part of the herd of sheep. It bothers middle class mentality to know that NASCAR dads and guys in flannel are cruising one another at the Home Depot. And neither are wearing a stitch of pink. Try and find me a normal guy who actually cares about thinking rather than how he's thought of.

Stereotyping usually come from people not exposed enough outside of the their fence. I have a pink polo shirt and I wear it comfortably - but doens't mean something is wrong with me. Pink is nothing but Red in pale color. And I'm a happy straight guy. Genetically speaking, women is XX chromosomes and man is XY. By stereotyping, aren't we all men half-women and have-men? For sure no men is YY chromosome. It never happened

That's a good question. I have two gay friends and not only are they how you described them, but they can't do anything masculine. Recently they both admitted that they can't even change a tire. I personally take pride in the fact that I'm bi and that I don't fit the stereotype.

I know right, i'm not a gay man , but i do know a few people who are and i don't get it at all, like if some one tells them their gay and their into football and other guy stuff no one would every belive it i guess people don't understand that the only requirement to being gay is that you have to be gay ( like other men) but besides that srry i dunno the answer to your question.lol

Humans have this need to catagorize. In order to deal with all of the types of people in society, we find we pigeonhole people in order to deal with them. Not the best way, but it's comforting to some.
Humans are NOT perfect...
People can't handle "lipstick lesbians" either (LOL).
