Most important accomplishments on a daily basis: play out the hand I was given by life as best I can: try to have a good time, while making the world a better place in some way. Also, live though integrity: keep my word, be courageous, honest, truthful wherever possible except where to be truthful would hurt someone, be respectful and honor my own and others boundaries.

Try to do loving actions towards my loved ones and to strangers, such as helping out wherever possible. Loving myself by working on issues like personal health, money, time, integrity. Make time to smell the flowers each day, literally and figuratively.

In my opinion, it is the effect someone has on the progression of mankind. For example, if Napolean or Jesus or Einstien had never lived, the world today would be a very different place. A musician or an artist, like Michealangelo or Elvis, I would say is not as worthy because the world would not be much different without their art.

Some of the most worthy people in history, by these standards, are Henry Ford, Thomas Savery(invented steam engine), Wright Brothers(because face it, the world would be completely different without cars and planes), Edison and Tesla(world would be very different without electricity and radio waves), Jesus, Abraham, Bhudda, and most other big religion leaders(because religion has a huge impact on society).

It's sort of unfortunate that most of these people are scientists, but I think that science is what changes the world more than anything else, followed by religion. Art doesn't affect society on a grand scale, so it's not as significant.

For a person to be worth a lot in my opinion, that person would have to make a huge difference in the world, and for the good. I think Jesus is probalby the most worthy person in history because he has caused the most good in the world.

The question is really sort of vague. The answer changes depending on who's standards you're asking about. If you're asking my own opinion, then I'd say my wife. She's had the most important impression on me, and for the good. IF you're asking about the world, then I'd say scientists and religious leaders. If you're asking about history or current times, that makes a huge difference, because political leaders make big differences in the world, but they don't last. For example, Alexander the Great conquered much of the known world, but if he hadn't, I think that things today would not be much difference. The affect is great at first, and then fades exponentially over time. Scientists have a much more steady rate of impression on society. If you were asking this question from God's point of view, then the answer would be good deeds, and lack of sin, and beliefs.

I understand why you think this question is a great philosphical question, but it's not as much of a thinker when you notice the indirectness of the question. It's vagueness is what makes it so confusing, and therefore challenging to answer.

The worth of a life...hmmm. Tricky. Every life has value for simply existing, but, for my part, I do have a bit of a barometer. Ask yourself...do you positively affect those around you? Do you improve their lives? I think the key to leading a worthwhile life is improving the world for having lived in it. If you change but one life for the better, you've led a worthwhile existence, in my estimation.
In short, you should focus on making the world a better place, through actions big and small. I, for my part, aspire to be an writer and a philosopher, so my works and musings may far outlive me and have positive affect for a long time. But, on the way, I try to be kind and polite in all of my dealings in others, in hopes of inspiring them to do the same...

If I can't get up and go to the bathroom myself - that's a sure sign to let me go.
If I can't be me - enjoy the birds -smile - talk -
in short when and if the time comes that I am a vegetable - it's time to go.
That isn't to say that others will see things my way - but that's what I want.
To me, this is quality of life. This is what life is worth - when I have nothing else to live for.

By determining your own worth.

If you value your own life then you should assign that same worth to every other human being; including the mentally challenged, the homeless, etc.

Accomplishment does not put value on a life. Accomplishment only shows what one did with one's life.

If you live your life in such a way that you cause no one harm in any form, you give something back to the community where you live, you respect and love your family, your find enjoyment in the little things and you continue to educate yourself about the world around you.....then for me that's a good life.
