Have you ever thought of moving into Mother's lock, stock and barrel, as they say? Always keep up the pretence of looking out for a better accommodation but never think of it. The mon will be too happy to have you and the two grands with her and be sure she will strike down whatever pretence of a proposal you would bring forth overruling father.

The only snag is your hubby. A hubby is yet to be born(or should we say yet to be married) who would tolerate the presence of mother-in-law in the house even in his worst nightmares.Do you know the standard joke? The tribal housewiife comes running to wake her sleeping spouce, " Come, wake up, a tiger has seized mom!" " I pity the poor beast!" The husband says in a sleepy voice, turns on one side and resumes snoring.Take care of this front and sooner or later mom will give you a house

Or the husband will(most probably!)

These answers are funny. When I read the question, I guess I more saw it as, "How can my Mom benefit from buying me a house?" because that's how you have to approach it.

You mother would get significant benefit by buying you a house for the tax write-off and future appreciation from sale. I don't know of a single parent (unless you're still in college full-time) who will just give away the house without collecting some sort of rent.

Approach it with your mother as an investment. It would help if you had hard numbers worked up. You can get these numbers by calling a local Realtor and telling them your plan. They would benefit if their numbers were good enough to convince your mother that it's a good investment!

You could get a job, and then you wouldnt need anybody to buy you a house. Stop being lazy.

Suggest that you assume responsibility for buying your own house.
Then, after you have gotten a record of paying promptly for several years perhaps your Mom will see that you are deserving of her help.

you could try brainwashing her but i doubt that you would do that as it would require you to move you lazy so and so. i have another idea why not work and save to buy your own house as you will apprepriate it more as you did it by yourself. stop being a baby and grow up sweetie. be a man/woman and do it yourself.

Give her the money and ask she use it to buy you a house.

Maybe you should be thinking about ways to buy things for yourself instead of getting mommy to buy them for you.

Grow up, get a job, save your money and buy your own house.

Maybe you should RESPECT your mother and BUY HER A HOUSE as a THANK YOU for raising your butt!

Unless you are a quadrapalegic you are a loser. Your mom gave you life, and you want her to give you a house now?
