Hi hope somebody out there can help i bought a 1996 plymouth breeze in great condition starting 2 days ago when i come to a stop the car revs and bangs into first gear after that she shifts normaly any ideas i luv the car looks brand new.

The first thing to check is the transmission fluid level. If it is low on fluid, the car will do that. If may also be a computer control problem, or an internal problem with the transmission. If the fluid level is good, have the transmission checked by a qualified transmission specialist!

i had the same problem and what happen was the tranny was not shiffting well something inside was wrong and the mechanic said he needs to check inside the engine, and then he told me engine is licking oil and other stuff he said he would do the work for a 1000 bucs and then when i was going to check with another mechanic see if he would chage less the engine totaly broke and i had to dump the car,those plymouth are not a good like mine was a 1999 with just 60k and it was also in great condition. better yet buy or trade it for a honda civic or accord! they are the best.

Does the check engine light come on? If not, it might be alright, but I have a feeling it may be the torque converter lockup. I mean when you get to a certain speed the torque converter has a switch close to it, that will lock it with the flywheel, and the transmission. It does this so you have no power loss from the torque converter doing its job.

it happened to my 92 honda civic they said its one of the coils in the transmission go get it checked out it will cost you like 400 hundred
