Yes. Alcohol does worse things to the body. The active ingredient in marijuana is actually created by the body in small amounts. Toking just increases that amount.

Yes I do , it would sure solve allot of problems, Like charging and jailing Americans for a drug that is good for people.Put billions in the hands of our gov. instead of Mexico's, save lives by cutting down on the number of drunk drivers. The best thing about pot is the effect it has on a person's brain, that being the ability to understand others, and how they form ideas, the ability to understand those ideas. How to sit back and be a disinterested 3rd party without allot of personal beliefs inter fearing with your reasoning. Peace , the ability to look at the world and the status quo and understand logically why we do what we do as a people. How peace and love can be used to help each and every person understand a little bit more than the normal citizen. How to curb violent tendencies in your personality, and help others acknowledge theirs. This country was founded on hemp, it's part of our culture. Pot is a gift from the gods, our gov. knows it, that's why they don't want us to have it. Everyone should try it at least once , just to make sure they grow up alright!

great question.
there realy is no reason why it shouldnt be, except for the obvious steriotypes of users.
but if they would leagalize it, they would save ruffly 10 billion on the war on drugs against it, also the taxation profit would be unreal.
if the would would use hemp to make paper, it would cut back about 15% of daily polution caused by the chemical and asids they use to refine paper.
but to look at it from the other side, it would just give the would anuther thing to say bad about america, and also have the super concervitaves panties up in a bunch.
it might be sumthing worth concidering after this whole middle east thing blows over.

If for no other reason, the tax revenues.

Our government could impose the same restrictions, rules and regulations it holds over booze. There's a fortune to be made and a few (closet dopin') politicians are holding it up because a handful of redneck , trailer trash preachers have convinced them it's "evil".

When is this country going to join the human race?

Even if they didn't legalize marijuana, which i think they should, they should legalize industrial hemp. it has no THC and can be used for clothing(it's stronger then denim), paper, rope, and as a bio fuel. You can get several crops a year.

absolutely not. it's enough of a problem now, but legalizing it will just encourage its use. IT would be another step towards America becoming Rome.
