I was wondering if this was a legal batting stance. Starting righty, You start feet togther perpendicular to the plate and then take a step with your right foot first so that you are facing the plate with right in front of left. Now I was wondering does your back foot have to be in the batting box? here's an example....

(left foot)> (right)> v (plate)

any contact you make with the ball while out of the batters box will result in an out.....lots of major leagures will wipe out the lines so they can move where they want to...you can also have your foot touching the line and the rest of the foot out of the box..

You can stand backwards if you want to. Probably not a good idea, but legal.

The batter's feet must be within the box prior to delivery of the pitch. This means ALL of both feet. If the batter contacts the ball (hits it, fair or foul) with either foot TOTALLY out of the box, that is illegal, batter is out.

The rest of your body parts don't matter. You can have a nose over the plate, butt hanging out or whatever. Just gotta have those feet right.

If the batter during the pitch steps out of the box, then back in, he is also out.

If any part of the batters body is out of the box when he strikes the ball he is out.
