this question goes for all hispanics out there but other races can also participate too. many latinos in the U.S. are okay with this term "latino" to refer to their race, nationality or culture, but others do really find this term offensive and prefer to use the more appropiate term which is "hispanic". personally, i don't like the term "latino".

I would go with Hipanic if the person is Spanish speaking or of a Spanish speaking country..Latino does signify other nationalities such as Italian..Latin is the base of many words

I think I would like the word people or human... but if you must you should call all people with color skin between black and white latino if it helps you... anyway there are many "latins" born in the USA now adays and my culture and way of living is totatlly different to them anyway I´m a mexican by born ( I won´t even get started to the mix of races that lies in my blood or the selection of human thinking where mine has chossen to grow, meaning culture, to reduce it to a single word) anyway when in rome and no t a roman I´m a foreigner and since my spanish comes from old latin I would assume latin is ok if you would like to be called to the ancestor of your language...

I think it really depends upon the person. Being caucasian I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be offended by being called either hispanic or latino.

'Latin' refers to a variety of nationalities but 'Hispanic' refers to Spanish speaking nationalities.
