I am the newly appointed director of a child care center and I also teach the older children(Pre-K). I am looking for any ideas for lesson plans for every age group that I have. We care for children as young as 6wks old. I just want as much learning as possible to be promoted in every classroom. Thanks to anyone who can help me out. My staff, children, and I appreciate it in advance.

Have the older children play simple educational games such as jeopardy with simple questions about good manners and hygiene, or any other subject that may come up. Have a show and tell day. Play with flash cards and give small prizes for correct answers. Group them up in teams and form study groups on different studies and then ask each team questions about the study, and give a prize to the team that gets the most correct answers. I hope this helped you out!

I used to teach English in Japan and played a few games. One was to learn their colors. All the kids would take their shoes off (they liked this). I would get a whole pack of construction paper and toss the pages all over the floor. Then I would call out a color, say red, and everyone had to stand on a red piece of paper. I would go through all the colors several times until the paper would start ripping. I guess you could laminate it so it would last longer. The kids really liked it.

Lesson plans for prekindergarten are kind of not a good thing don't you think. I mean I know you have to have some control over what they are doing, but their main interest is playing and I would go with it.
I think there is too much stress put on our babies to learn. They are babies, remember that and away from their parents from the age of 6 wks. that is enough to make anyone insecure and I would rather you were to instill security in my child than their abc's

The kids have to find something that is a certain shape or color. Run around and when the music stops everyone has to pick up a ball.
