I've never really had a problem with noisy sweet wrappers although people talking in the cinema grates me so much. It's usually stupid teenagers or little kids whose useless parents can't control them and take them outside (with the hailing of the 12A rating, the latter problem is even worse). And people fiddling with their mobiles are also very annoying.
It makes you wonder why some folk fork out £4-5 for the cinema ticket just to talk when they could do that outside for free.

Ugh, I swear, I hate people talking at a movie! I went to see Rent; the two people behind me sang EVERY line of the movie. I turned around and said "Shhhh..."; they kept right on singing. I love Rent, I knew the lines, but I wasn't singing them! Goodness!
Sorry; was ranting. Anyway, yes, I hate people talking at movies. It seems that people have no sense of how to behave anymore. And it's not just the movies. Events like recitals, school organization concerts...being rude seems to be contagious. I hate it when people do that.
The wrappers don't bother me as much at movies. What bothers me the most is talking and people who take babies and toddlers to PG-13 and even R-rated films. It should be against the theater's rules! There's enough in most of those PG-13 and R-rated action, sci-fi, or fantasy movies to give a kid nightmares for years!
Okay, I'm done ranting. Bottom line: people are rude, and it annoys me to no end.

It''s and age old problem. I don't see why you shouldn't politely say that, you can't hear the film very well. I don't know what the solution to noisy sweet wrappers is, what I find most annoying is when people are bobbing their heads from side to side with no thought for the people behing them.

It settles down with all the food wrappers thing after a while. The only thing that bugs me is small children, so you have to be careful when you go and where you sit. I am not a babysitter and do not intend to go watch a cartoon with a small child screaming in my ear. I am a grumpy old git really.

This is one of the reasons why I don't go to the cinema anymore, if I ever do go I wait until the films been on for a while & go during the day when it's quieter usually just me and the oap's lol I get to watch all the films I want in blessed silence

Yes it annoys me also, but I have no problem going up to that person and asking them to be quiet, or would they please reimburse me for the price of the ticket. They are usually embarrassed enough when you are standing next to them asking them to be quiet, that they do. If that doens't work, I go to the manager.
As for the wrappers, get popcorn.

What annoys me more is kids running up and down and the parents doing nothing about it. Ugh!
The best way to get around this is to go to the matinee- the cinema is empty an its cheaper to!

Movies used to be watched in total silence. People see movies on TV now and think they are at home where its all talk over the dialogue.
