Will they ever release another great album like the black album, or are their best days behind them?

It depends on if the listener is open to them evolving their sound, i heard one of the songs, i liked it

Metallica will never suck. St. Anger is awesome. Their older stuff is the best, but there isn't one of their songs I don't like. They never sold out. Kiss sold out in the 70's when they did a disco album. Some one up there said he's heard parts of the next album. Wrong. The only part anyone could have heard is The New Song they first played June 6 at Berlin. If you want to hear it go to youtube.com and search for metallica new song. It's not even final that this one will even be on the next album.

Your question is logically flawed from the beginning. You asked if Metallica will ever release another great album like the Black album. This was not their best CD, I will tell you that right now. As for their next CD, I have heard parts of it and it totally kicks ***. Their best days may be behind them, but they still have potential to make some great music.

Yup. Everything before the Black Album (when they started showing an annoying love of money), they rocked out. After the Black Album, they wussed out. Unfortunately, many other hard rock groups have slowed way down and grown way too greedy as they've gotten older (Aerosmith, Def Leopard, Scorpions, Motley Crue, etc.)

Probably....
The only albums I like from the group are their first 3 albums. After that, most the songs got old quick. Their worst album is ST. ANGER (don't like ANY song from that album...)

I am a metallica fan like no other,but i like the old metallica,they sold out after losing james,they thought it would be better to change their sound & they lost big time!!!!!!!!!
