Hi! This solution has worked quite well for me on my off-white walls---Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. They're available in every grocery store and not too pricey. They resemble a white styrofoam brick. You simply wet them wring them out, then rub out the marks. They gradually wear away to nothing, but cover a good amount of wall space. So far I've been able to get off finger prints, crayon and other unidentified marks!
PS, I assume that you meant to get rid of the marks, not the wall! :-)

Dry wall dust gets just about anything clean on the walls or pots and pans , glass stove tops. I have removed ink, crayon, and other stuff from he wall without harming it. It really works. I been using it for years. I was cleaning one day after doing some drywalling and has some of it on my cloth and was trying to remove the crayon and it came right off so I began seeing what else I could get off and that is how I found out about drywall dust. USE DAMP CLOTH DIP IN DRYWALL DUST AND USE IT TO WIPE ANYTHING OFF WALLS ETC. Sorry about typos

I have to swear by the magic eraser... My daughter took a sharpie marker and colored all over the wall. I tried hairspray and many cleaners but it didn't help. Used the eraser and wonderful.
Also try it on you stubborn stoves or the fan above no prob cuts right through it.
