Just wondering what people think on this. After thinking on this for some time myslef, I think I have the answer. Just wondering if anyone else will also agree with me and curious to see what some other responses may be.

Yep- 3 people agreed with me exactly and most of the other responses were closely tied to my thought of language/communication. Basically drew numbers between those three responses and this one lucked out for the 10 points.

Depends on your meaning of "innovation", for me it's the printing press, think of how much we rely on words and information. The printed word was sometimes forbidden to some people because the people in charge feared what knowledge they would gain. Writers would not be able to tell stories as effectively if it all had to be copied by hand, and there'd be no advertising or even the internet. So many things came from the printing press, it's truly amazing if you think about it for awhile. Thank you Gutenberg!

Chuck Jeager breaking the sound barrier. This led to space exploration, which has benefited mankind in ways we are only starting to understand. Consider the things which have been developed since the space program began: plastics, medical advances, recycling became popular because we finally realized just how finite this earth of ours is.

I have thought about this for several minutes and have ruled out alot of things for various reasons.

I am going to say Science/Medicine whatever you want to call it.
It has given the gift of life to everyone at sometime or other.

To me, it is the internet! It does not cease to amaze me how people can be connected and communicate, even with voice and image, from one end of the world to another. It's just unbelievable.
