Ummm, I have worked for awhile in the mental health field dealing with forensics and have run across people who have screwed or molested a cow, sheep, donkey, a cat, and by far the most frequently sexually abused animal the dog. Sorry that I had to interject some sad reality here but sadly true. Unfortunately, I don't think the sign would've stopped these people.....

Well the meaning for molest is to annoy or bother however we have come to know it as an unspeakable act. So the sign refers to not bothering the animals.
