I believe in equity. I believe a woman should be payed fairly. However, I do not call myself a feminist for the following reasons:

- The feminine term, (femi-nism) is insulting. It implies that only the feminine represents equality while the masculine represents oppression.

- Feminism has strayed from its supposed purpose. It is more about blaming and insulting men than it is about helping women.

- Feminism is associated with many ideologies I do not agree with. As a Christian, I am against homosexuality, abortion, non-marital sex. Feminism supports all of these.

A man can be feminist, if he believes truly that women and men are equal, and if he treats the women in his life (friends, girlfriend/spouse, Mom) as equals, with respect. That's all it takes! It seems like these requirements would make most men feminists, but believe me, most men don't think this way or act this way. Very frustrating.

There have been many male feminists throughout time. Some of the early studies on gender and feminity were done by men who ended up creating some foundations for 1st wave femininity.

As a self respecting woman how could you stand a man that is a feminist. He would spend more time in the bathroom than you.

who says he can't be? i am a female, and i personally think the feminist movement has gone overboard in recent years, and wouldn't want to be part of it. However, I would be part of it back in the days of Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Their Declaration of Sentiments was very forward moving, and inciteful.

because women want a real MAN, not someone who's going to let her lord over him... there has to be somewhat of a compromise... but he can't be a full blown feminist...
