They scream about social injustice, They whine about the evils of corporate America, but then so many I know support the largest most evil industry known to man. Big Tobacco. Thoughts?

By the way I am conservative and don't smoke cigarettes. I do indulge in a good cigar and a cold beer whenever possible. I drink Nat Lite at home, so don't label me snotty. An ****** I can handle, but not a snob.

I DON'T care about the conservatives that smoke. They are not the ones whining about the evils of corporate America.

And by the way, this is a fun one.

I don't smoke (never have either), and as for supporting "the largest most evil industry known to man", diversification by the tobacco giants has made that pretty much involuntary.

*Shiner Bock....national beer of Texas, cheaper than Bud, no snobs allowed.

Because they are self centered, individualists trying to be different, just like everyone else. if they quit smoking, less people will die, and there will be less to protest. Sacrificing for their cause, just like they want a draft (by stopping people from enlisting) so the dead soldiers will be there against their will, and they can protest. They will only sacrifice to further their causes.

They want everything their way, without the sacrifices they would have to make. They are the first ones to organize, protest, print lies in the media, register voters and say their peace; but they do not enlist and serve to guarantee those rights. They are so disillusioned that they believe if guns are banned, the criminals will turn theirs in, too.

They passed all the laws banning smoking in bars in California to save the "helpless employees" with no other prospects but to work minimum wage wait staff jobs because of their life choices (or lack of due to society in CA not allowing children a voice or thought). However, a mother can strap two toddlers in the backseat, rollup the windows and smoke her brains out.

Where is the justice?????

I've noticed the same thing. A majority of the people I know who smoke cigarettes are liberal. They're also the ones who are the most livid about big tobacco. Maybe they can't quit themselves so they have to stop the tobacco companies from making the cigarettes.

Maybe they started smoking in their early teens, before they had any serious political beliefs. Over time they grew addicted, so even if they don't like supporting RJ Reynolds, they can't stop themselves.

Or, they may just hold principled positions when it's convenient. If that's the case, it isn't because they are liberals, it's because they're humans with the same weaknesses and hypocrisy as the rest of us.

This is about the single most stupida$$ed question I've ever seen. Liberals smoke TO P!SS YOU OFF. We live to see you foam at the mouth and rant and rave.

Right now all the liberals are having meetings all over America, we're trying to find new ways to make you miserable.
Semper Fi, stumpy.

I'm a non smoking liberal atheist

Why do so many conservatives I know like unjust pre emptive wars?

When I say unjust I mean

No WMD's
No Iraqi terrorists on 9/11

I know it's not only George Bush's fault we're in this war, but he lead the "Crusade" to approve it.

Look up some good research and see if more liberals smoke than conservatives...It's important to not jump to conclusions based on a relatively small group of people.

Maybe it's true though. And if it is, that's a great question.

I'm a conservative and the smokers I know are both democrat and republican. I don't think politics has anything to do with it. It is a bad habit and I feel sorry for those that don't have the strength or fortitude to stop.
