A seal in between where and where? You question is confusing. Do you mean a "gasket" between the cover and crankcase. If so, then yes.

I just read the answer some other guy wrote about your seal question. Now I understand. There are no seals separating the crankcase oil from the flywheel and stator. The flywheel turns in oil and the stator sits in the oil. (the stator has sealant covering it completely to keep the oil out). No action on your part is necessary.
