Buffy has actually died twice.
The first time was in the first season's finale episode of "Prophecy Girl." The Master killed her by drowning her. Xander was able to perform CPR and her and revive her in that same episode.
The second time Buffy died was the fifth season finale episode of "The Gift." This was set to be the final episode of Buffy, and it was even advertised as the series finale. But, UPN picked it up and it lasted another two seasons. She died in this one by jumping into a mystical portal to close it. The Goddess Glory had opened it by spilling Dawn's blood so she could go back to her home dimension. This is the most known death. The Scoobies bring Buffy back to life in the season opener of the 6th season, "Bargaining Part 1 & 2."
The series finale did come in season 7. All of the potentains did get turned into slayers with the help with Willow.

Yes.. ALL of the potential slayers became slayers because Buffy found it ridiculous that it should be on one girls hands to protect the world. So all the girls are slayers right? so then they go to fight the battle right atop the hellmouth and lots of the girls died, Buffy wounded and Anya died, and Spike ended up saving the world (its really complicated to explain). Then after Spike does his little thing involving a medalion, the hellmouth goes into hell. The whole city is destroyed and Buffy and the Scooby Gang get out just in the knick of time. You can watch it on FX, right now they are on the 6th season (I think) so check back in a couple of weeks and it should be coming on!

In the series finale, Sunnydale is destroyed.
All the potential slayers are brought to Sunnydale bfore that, and the power of the slayer (originally derived from a demon) is spread among all the girls. With her mini army of slayers and the Scooby Gang, togteher with the renegade slayer Faith, and aided by Spike, Buffy manages to destroy the invding army of vamps and destroy the hellmouth, too.

That second clip that you saw, that was the series finale. The one where she died was a season finale, probably the season 5 finale (unless it was the one where she was drowned. That happend way back in season one.). At the beginning of season 6, she was brought back to life and the show ran for two more years.

Yeah, the series finale was where all the potiental slayers of the world were activated, and Sunnydale went bye-bye.
You should get the box sets. The show was genius.

This was one of the best shows on tv during its time. The episode you are referring to was a season ending episode, not the series finale.

She died 3 times... Probably when Sarah Michelle Gellar's contract negotiations were on, but each time she was revived. Series finale was Spike saved the day, and Sunnydale fell into the Hell mouth blocking it.

I remember John Ritter played an android that went bonkers, in an early episode. Buffy was an okay show, hardly my favorite, but okay.
