I have carpet but I think I would like hardwood.

When we bought our house, we looked under the carpet and found hardwood. After getting them refinished they are absolutely stunning.

I had carpet but now I have hardwood floors and I like hardwood floors better because it looks prettier and it's cleaner than carpet.

And in case you get the extra useful stuff it extremely does look as intense-high quality as hardwood. I hate carpets. Hardwood, marble, tile, slate, oriental carpets. NO to dirty allergic wall to wall cheap crap. Hardwood takes a lot more care - cleaning - etc. So if you are typical American - stick to cheap wall to wall rather than have house show dirt.
