It doesn't matter if your rich or poor happiness is dependent on how you feel about yourself and other people. If you feel good about others then you'll feel good about yourself to, making you a happy person.Only your interpretation of events that happen around you make you happy or sad.Money is something completely different and is not a determinant to your state of mind.We were born into this world with nothing and this day was probably the happiest day we'll ever know as we were all given the best thing that you can ever acquire that which is more precious than all the money in the world and that is the gift of LIFE because without it, money is worthless!

Okay, now for a reality check. The whole reason that we have something called money is simply because we as human beings are not prepared to do something for nothing, so for us to live comfortable lives, people have to work to provide us with the neccessities we need to sustain ours and meet our commitment on a daily basis and depending on your responsibilities i.e personal and family up keep, will determine how much money you need but because we all have inherent personality flaws like jealousy and greed we have a tendency to want more than we actually need and more than others. So this is why you may well see some people with a lot of wealth unhappy because wealth maybe the most important thing to them and if it is, then not being the wealthiest will make them sad which could be the reason why they are unhappy and for the poor being happy, well, I guess that's a simple one, if you dont want for more than you already have then your not missing out on anything so are more likely to be content, or to use a more fitting saying "cut your cloth to your size" then why would you ever need be unhappy because your always satisfied.

I noticed that too. Rich people you will notice are the fakest people, they do not have friends, they have people that they constantly try to impress. They drive SUV'S everywhere instead of walking or taking public transportation so little human contact. There kids are suicidal and constantly demand money. There wives only want them for money and will abandon them if they ever lose it.

Poor people have less bad habits such as overspending, being picky about certain things and drugs(RICH PEOPLE DO ALOT OF DRUGS). They also have real friends that actually look out for each other. There kids are usualy more desciplined and get into less trouble and have real childhoods. There wives are more loyal and stick with them in poverty and no matter how obese they get.

Pool ppl find other way to appreciate their own lifes, to learn how to live happily with what they've got at present, such as their families, friends, or even health. They don't take money as a serious issue as the rich ppl do so that they have more time to devote on what can fulfill their souls.

Rich ppl on the other hand worry about not making enough money, no doing good enough, making less than richer ppl, and stuff...they don't give themselves enough time to spend with families, friends, or their interests. They work so hard to make money but lose their health, and then they spend their money go get their health back......how can they be happy if they only desire more and more?

Rich people have to constantly wonder if those around them care abou them or their money. Poor people know those around them love them for themselves.

Rich people have to constantly worry about who hates them and who is trying to steal from them. Poor people don't face that to the same degree or at all.

Rich people have to keep up appearances no matter what. Poor people aren't as worried about it because people aren't following them around all the time.

Rich people moreso want to impress their family and friends. Poor people really know how to have fun without trying to impress other people.

Rich people usually want more and more and more, so are never satisfied. Poor people are grateful for what they have and can usually make do with what they have.

Rich people use their money and power to bully other people with no regard for anyone else. Poor people have to learn to live together peacefully because they need each other.

Disclaimer: Not "all" rich people are this way and not "all" poor people are this way. This is generally what I've witnessed on both sides.

Because most things that make poor people happy dont make rich people happy. As things get more and more expensive, they only like things that are out of reach for them. Broke people at least admit to their circumstances and accept things for what they are.

Money solves the problems caused by poverty, but can't solve any other problems, and brings a whole new set of problems if its own.
I guess most people realise that if you won the lottery, you wouldn't be able to make all your friends rich too.
Plus at least when you've got no money you know who your friends are.

Rich people think money can buy them happiness. Maybe it did for a time but it got old. Poor people dont expect much to be happy and they have eachother. Materialistic things dont make the happiness if you are use to not having them to begin with. To have them for a time would be nice though!

i hate money.

the more you have the more you want and the more greedy you get over it.

you go to the shops and see lots of things that you want but do not need and the more you buy these things the more you find out how useless these things really are to your everyday life.

many years ago when the ps2 first came out i had to buy it and saves up £300 to buy one and then spent £40 a game to use on it. and at the end of the day when it came for me to get rid of it i found that it was worthless. after spending well over £3000 on by beautiful ps2 i found that it was a worthless piece of junk that had taken all my money and time for nothing more than a little bit of entertainment.

i value food more than money because at the end of the day you cant eat money.

there's an old American Indian saying that gos
not until the last fish as been caught,
not until the last tree has been cut down,
not until the last river has been polluted,
not until the last animal has been killed
will you find that you can not eat money.

The more you have the more you have to worry about.
If you are REALLY poor and have nothing you are greatful for everything. No one can take anything from you; you have nothing to lose. So if you have food for today for yourself and your family it is a bonus and you can smile and live another day.

The rich have to worry about who likes them and how safe they and all their stuff is.

Any person can choose to be happy and any person can choose to be unhappy. Happiness is not dependent on your volume of cash. Your happiness denpends on how you choose to accept or reject life's confrontations. If your definition of the poor is someone who cannot buy himself one good meal a week, cannot pay his medical bill; cannot pay his accomodation rent, then I cannot see how he can be happy except if he is denying reality and responsibility.
