I do agree with "Who Cares". This issue has many shades of grey. Often times attempt to cast a black and white view of these issues and say "It's their fault!" is what perpetuates the problem.
YES Hezbollah did strike first, therefore Israel has a right to defend itself.
YES Israel is using excessive force at the moment. There is obviously an agenda here to eliminate Hezbollah's military power.
YES Hezbollah and Israel are continuing to provoke each other. As long as rockets keep landing in Israel, Israel will continue their actions against Hezbollah and vice versa.
Hezbollah is to blame because if you throw stones, you should expect stones to be thrown back...and provoking a power army like Israel is just asking for it. Yes Israel is to blame because they certainly provoke through actions against Palastine and policies towards the middle east.
They are both to blame for the loss of innocent life and the violence.

Of course i do not agree with you and many others
thinks the same way i do. ISRAEL has the RIGHT to
exist ! They have the right to defend their their families.
How would you feel if you where in a neighborhood
where everyone hates you ? I know.....you would be
sooooo scared , you would pack few things and run...
run all your life ! NOT ISRAELIS ! ! ! They were constantly
attacked by Arabs....How much can they take it ? If Lebanon want peace why did they allowed terrorists to
settle in their own land ? I have a suggestion for you :
DON"T MESS WITH ISRAEL ! And in case you wonder...
I am not Israeli.....not by nationality or religion.

Israel has had two soldiers snatched from inside Israel by Hezbollah fighters and taken back to Lebanon, where they are being held for ransom.
Demands to return the soldiers have been met with rocket fire into Israel, with hundreds of rockets per day landing inside various parts of Israel.
If American soldiers were kidnapped and taken into Mexico, and the Mexican government/military were doing nothing to procure their return, I am sure the US would take matters into its own hands.
As far as Palestine, the land in Gaza was unilaterally ceded to them by Israel in the first place. Israel was not required to give them this land. As with Lebanon, guerilla fighters came across the border through tunnels and kidnapped an Israeli soldier, and are presently holding him for ransom. The difference with Palestine is that the group behind the kidnapping, Hamas, is the government of Palestine (whereas Hezbollah is not the government of Lebanon). Israel's response of mass arrests in Palestine, coupled with a crippling economic campaign (taking out power plants and other necessary infrastructure, and arresting Hamas leaders and jailing them in Israel) seems to me to be what I might do in that situation.
There is a lot of opinion that Israel's response in these situations is overreaching. However, most of these comments don't seem to suggest what would be a suitable response. Hezbollah would tell you that there are many of their people arrested and in Israeli jails....but in my opinion, these people probably should be in jail. There's a reason that Hezbollah is widely considered a terrorist organization.
Obviously, there is a large supply of rockets and other weaponry stashed away in Southern Lebanon, and much of this is inside civilian homes. With any country, if you know there is a home with 100 rockets inside that, if not destroyed, will be launched at population centers in your own country, would you not take action to destroy the home? Even if there is a family of four living there (although, by now, non-combatant civilian families should have had plenty of time to evacuate - I would evacuate my own family from this type of a war zone if I were a non-combatant).
I have seen very few suggestions as to an appropriate Israeli response that seem to me to be sensible. Ultimately, I sense that the best step would be to get an international peacekeeping force in the area, with heavy concentrations of forces from non-radical Islamic nations like Egypt and Jordan, to pursue the Hezbollah capability and bring about at least a cease fire.

Both are wrong.
Israel exist, the arabs need to get over it, Israel had no say in whether or not they would come into existance.
Israel needed to show they would not allow people to just kidnap their soldiers, so their aggression is Just. Hezbollah needs to return the soldiers, Israel needs to pull out of Gaza and Lebanon, and go back to the drawing table. Things were peaceful until Sharon went comatose.

Land for peace works - if the Arabs stick to the deal.
For example: Sinai. Egypt and Israel made a land for peace deal, and Egypt has stuck to it. No problem since then.
But in Lebanon, Hezbollah does not want peace, only the complete destruction of Israel. It's in their mission statement, it's public information. If somebody is walking around for years saying "my sole purpose is to destroy you" and then they start shooting rockets at you... I think that justifies self defense.

I do not agree! Hezbollah fired first. If the Lebanese fought and destroyed Hezbollah, the fighting would stop. Innocent people, on both sides, are being hurt and maimed.
Israel is defending itself, pure and simple.

My support is for justice, justified by my argument below:
To get a full understanding, we have to go back a long time ago when the Israelis were expelled from 109 locations and the British mandate and Balfour declaration gave Israel a part of the Palestine land that was occupied by the British forces then.
http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/expelle...
The Israeli Zionists had their own agenda to attain their "promised land" - the land between the Al Forat & the Nile Rivers - and Israel began to invade parts of Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and more parts of Palestine.
In 1967 the UN passed resolution 242 calling for Israel to withdraw form the occupied Arab territories they have invaded & occupied during these wars.
During this time, Israel has been conducting ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians and is continuing to do so to this day as it is now doing to Lebanon as well. Have you heard of the Israeli Sabra & Shatila massacre in Lebanon or the Deir Yassin massacre in Palestine? Please read on:

The whole issue of the current abuse over Lebanon is not the issue Israeli soldiers. Israel provoked Hezbollah by crossing the Lebanese borders to aggravate matters and have Hezbollah retaliate. Lebanon is only a stepping-stone to reach Syria and Iran after Iraq has been totally destroyed and occupied by the US. (Israel was behind the Afghanistan / Iraqi wars).

For Israel to be able to fulfill its agenda, then it has to ensure that there are no powerful Arab / Muslim armies in the region except the Israeli army, which is backed up & fully equipped with US military weapons. Israel also has its own nuclear power station and nuclear warheads.
I have many sources to support all that I have said if you care to check them out yourself.
Israel throughout history has been conducting covert operations against the US (in particular) to set up the Arabs and begin wars with their neighboring Arab countries to achieve their cause / agenda.
From history, Israel did conduct attacks on the US harming and murdering US citizens trying to set up Arab countries in the process so that the US may start wars with these countries – Check the sources below: USS Liberty and the Lavon affair and others:

israel IS ...defending itself...
why do you think they gave up the land in Lebanon six years ago ???
why do you think they pull out of Gaza last year ???
they want peace. those Hamas and Hezbollah won't let israel live in peace.
all the death tolls in Lebanon is because the terrorists have woven themselves within civilians.
