Starting a small business takes a lot of courage. But, as they say, courage does not pay the bills. To be successful – to stay in business – you need more than courage. You need a combination of hard work, skill, perseverance, and lots of luck.

Some things you need to consider:
- "How can I support my family while I build up by business?"
- "What are my abilities?"
- "Is there a market for the product or service I have chosen?"
- "How long will it take this business to reach the financial goal I have?"

In terms of what business to start, the best home business that will depend on what you want, how you define to be interesting. A person may consider a pet sitting business to be the most exciting work in the world, while another person would rather watch TV than take care of dogs.

The key is to determine what your interests are, what you want to do, what is suitable for your lifestyle and your overall goals, and what can fit with your resources.

Dan Ramsey in his book "101 Best Home Businesses" has a chapter on how to find YOUR best home business. He suggests these 10 steps:

6. Learn from the successes of others
7. Learn from the failures of others
8. Plan your own success
9. Make low cost mistakes

I joined a great company that will allow me the time and money freedom in the next couple of years to start my own business as a spa owner and my husband to be an artist. In the meantime the business provides an affordable service to people who deserately need it and helps people in all kinds of areas. The retirement plan if the business is consistently worked is 3-5 years.

We have tried many things and have found a company that has been around for 21 Years and pays you to advertise for them. My wife and I just started and are doing well. It is not an MLM company and no selling, no deliveries or stocking product. My wifes aunt has been working with this company (Melaleuca) for a little over 3 years and home schools 3 kids and makes $9,000 a month. It is a 500 inc company and the CEO is on the U.S. Chamber of commerce board. I can arrange a private web cast with my wifes aunt for you and you can decide by yourself and WE WILL help you be successfull. It is an honest Win Win.

Compared to offline businesses, the investment required to start an online business is minimal. A popular way of earning money on the internet is by providing information and services. This can be monetised by advertising or charging a subscription. You can also make money online by selling products on auction websites like eBay or through your own website. you can start a dog walking company. People love their dogs here in the US. They will do anything for them. Also you can take care of pets as people leave for the vacation. We have a dog and we canceled many trips, because there was noone to watch after the dog.

Do a day care for pets just like a day care for baby humans, it would be fun. You know there's very busy professionals who love animals and own them but they need a nanny too for their pets, good luck!
