Eat more fruit. You do NOT have to have citrus fruit to get vitamin C. Also, green vegetables are rich in vitamin C. You can also take a supplement. They're pretty cheap at the grocery store.

Take a good multivitamin.

The GNC Women's Mega is a good one.

Personally, I like Flintstones, since they are chewable.

It sounds like you have an allergic reaction to citrus fruits. They are causing you to break out in hives. You can take a generic version of Claritan for that.

Try a multivitamin that has vitamin C in it. If you continue to have a reaction to it you should see a dermatologist.

When your doctor told you that you needed more vitamin C in your diet, he should have also told you how you could go about getting it considering your problems. Call the doctor and ask for you money back.
