I feel that before we spend billions of dollars defending people abroad, we should first take care of the downtrodden at home. Health, education, welfare and our infra-structure are in a sorry state in the USA.
All of that money sure could improve areas that have been hit by natural disasters like floods, hurricanes and fires.
He could get serious about funding researchers for a gas alternative. In WWII, when the Germans cornered the rubber trees in Africa, our scientists came up with an alternative in a very short time.
He should help to create a system where people who need medicine can obtain it without losing their savings and homes.
He could ensure that industry remains in the country, rather than allowing companies and jobs to move abroad for cheap labor. Between illegal aliens and cheap labor abroad, how will the average American survive, in the future?
He could enforce the immigration laws that we already have to prevent 12,000,000+ illegal aliens from bleeding our system dry.
He could go after the real terrorists in Saudi Arabia rather than begin a false war in Iraq. Nine of ten terrorists from 9/ll were Saudis.
He could support our farmers instead of paying them money not to grow grain while, at the same time, importing food from other countries.
We must stop alienating each other through partisan politics, live by moral principle, and just do the right thing.
We should play fair when trading with our biggest trading partner, Canada. We must not protect our resources while endangering the resources of our friends. Decisions regarding soft wood lumber and beef have not been fair to Canada. If we expect to be treated properly, then we should treat our friends fairly. We should be a positive example to the world.
And, of course, tell us the truth.

He could start by telling everybody that last week's veto of the stem cell research bill was a mistake, and lift the veto.
Then the best thing he could do is go on vacation until his miserable presidency is over at the end of 2008. Lord forbid the President try to help this country any more. We just can't afford any more of his kind of help.

I don't believe that the current president has the vision or the political ability to help our country. We will just have to hope for better things with the next President.

Confess, repent, and resign, and fire Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice on the way out the door. That would be a nice start.
Then buy a large bag of pretzels and apply for Hussein's old job. Half of Iraq misses him and Geronimo George might satisfy both factions, something he'd never be able to do here. There would be no losers. Except for the good half of Iraq.
