I think we need an alternate method of keeping the house cool!

don't open your door too much.
keep the blinds or the curtains closed.
use one to two appliances at the same time.
don't water plants in the hottest part of the day.
watch al gore movie about global warming.

And they should only increase.
It's a very good thing you know that you need to learn how to keep your house cool. Now you can start figuring out what's needed to keep your house warm in the winter, 'cause that also demands a lot of energy.
