How technical do I have to be?

It is best to fully charge a phone every day, according to Motorola. The phone has a battery manager built in to it that optimizes the charge for the battery supplied with the phone. I assume all phones have this. A battery can be charged at any time without harm, the 20% rule applies to car batteries. It is never a good idea to let a battery completely discharge. LiMH are not immune from this rule. That is why they ship them with a charge.

The key to remember with Limh batteries is that shelf life determines their life span more than anything, not use. Even if they are fully charged and not used, they will lose considerable power every year. I think they only last about 3 years MAX if you take care of them. If they are constantly "deep discharged" they won't even make it one year.

I got to your post about something on immigration and I have a problem with it. I assume you are up in Minnesota so you think all the immigration is great since you get your lawn mowed for next to nothing and you probably don't have a problem with it. However, please consider a few things;

1.) A huge influx of immigrants severely strains the educational system of the city where it occurs. The sad fact is that the schools affected are often the least funded districts within said city. The students usually don't speak or write English and this results in dropouts north of 50 %. It also takes resources away from students who are citizens and whose only crime is that their parents live in a poor area.

2.) Since a lot of these immigrants end up working in seasonal or sub contractor work, they usually aren't paid with traditonal payroll that deducts taxes. Most are also not insured and they forego it even if it is offered. Their sole source of healthcare and workmens comp is the local emergency room. That also includes car insurance, which I learned about the hard way after getting hit and having my car totalled by an illegal.

3.) Because a lot of times they go where the work goes, they move around a lot which usually (not always) involves honest people getting stiffed. Landlords, power, phone, heat, etc. on the last month or two every time they leave.

4.) A good percentage end up in jail. In my hometown 25% of the jail is used by illegals.

5.) All the people you make fun of, the lower IQ people, may be bricklayers or cooks. They get screwed by this because they they compete against these people. And these immigrants come with a heavy price. Why are you so against people with low IQ's. Do you think they can help it? You may think that some guy who works in WVA is a lazy fatass or something, but if they work in a mine or something I bet they would beat the ever loving **** out of you and would probably glady do it after they heard you bring them in to this debate. I bet you are sitting behind the computer your parents bought for you, wasting coal with stupid ******* questions about elevators! A lot of these guys are the ones who fight our wars and I bet you hate them for that too, because your mom thinks war is bad and Bush is a jerk. So is your answer that Americans should come second to illegal immigrants?

I have a major problem with taxpayers flipping the bill so companies can get cheaper labor. That isn't capitalism, it isn't right, and it sure as hell isn't good long term policy for the nation. If we are going to import people into this country, lets decide that we want the brightest and best, not third world people who fly the Mexican flag because deep down they hate ours. You may not understand this yet up in Minnesota, but the guy who mows your lawn thinks you are an *** who flaunts his wealth and he thinks you are lazy. You probably respect them so much for their work ethic but their children aren't going to want to clean your toilets. It is way easier to drop out of school, get on welfare and also work for cash. What makes this really special is that they bring their culture here and we have set up the perfect system for them to start having lots of babies in high school and then use family reunification to get their parents and GRANDPARENTS on the list for Social Security!!

California is melting down servicing this problem. Check out the numbers on the budget. It will blow you away. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE PAYING MORE THAN THEY ARE RECEIVING. This whole thing is corporate welfare to the Nth degree.

And I am not fat in case that is your comeback.

Mexico's poor are not our problem. Thats a MEXICO problem.

Several sources suggest different charging techniques to optimize battery life and expectancy. Intuitively, it makes sense to discharge the battery before fully charging.
