Role based access control is a method of setting up access based on roles. For example, customer services people need access to customer accounts and orders. Stock clerks need access to inventory. Group policy can be implemented using roles as the groups. You make a group called custserv that has access to customer accounts. Anyone who is a customer service rep gets places in the custserv group. The only problem with this is that you cannot grant partial access to a particular customer service rep. You would have to crerate another group.
