You can rent inexpensive boats and get a day license at Dixon Lake, in Escondido. They just caught a huge, prize winning bass there.

Go to San Clemente Island for Rock Cod fishing. You will need a fishing boat or have a friend that has one. You have to see this rock cod reel and pole. You have lure bait lines on them and about 5 hooks. When you feel a tug reel up your line very little and everytime you feel a tog do the same after you reel in your line and wow! you have at least 4 to 5 rock cod [ reddish coral in color] and real good tasting cooked or BBQ fish. You can also go to catalina and try the coves for fishing and out by the derricks out of long beach. Have a wonderful day boating and fishing...
