I'm a dreamer. I've been lucid dreaming on and off for couple years. I've been inconsistant with my dreaming states. I dream all the time, I just can't control it as I would like. I can get very close to controlling my dreams, but as soon as I get control I get scared and wake up. Any thoughts would be great. How can I consistantly lucid dream all the time? And have it be where I can control it without any doubts.

One of the most common exercises for lucid dreaming is to look at your hands often while you're awake. While looking at your hands, ask yourself if you are dreaming. Of course, while awake the answer will obviously be "no".

Once you get into the habit of doing this whenever you think to, you'll begin to do it while dreaming. Suddenly, the answer will be "Yes" and you will become lucid.

It may be that the clearest dreams are the ones we can not controll. And the fogiest dreams are the ones we can controll somewhat.

Fasting will help with clear dreams but ones that we can not controll.

You are relatively idle and lazy. Examine your life and what you do. Solomon has said the sleep of a laboring man is sweet.

The best thing is to work long and hard and also party wildly once a week. Then you will have sweet dreams.

The Japanese invented a system years ago the used goggles with a series of pulsating red lights. It detected when you went into REM mode and began to pulsate red lights into your field of view.
I do not know the specific rate or any other details but hopefully, this will get you started.

Also, I have red curtains in my room and when the sun comes up, it coincides with my REM period. During that time I have very specific, repeated dreams, mostly involving flying.
I am holding an object and can just lift off the ground and, as long as I hold it, I can continue to fly.
I am naked, of course- but...
I can control my speed and even dictate where I want to fly to. Mostly, I fly over the Delaware River from New Jersey and into Pennsylvania. What a beautiful journey it is!

Best of luck to you!

You can't.

What you can do is deprive yourself of sleep to make the dreams you have more controllable. However, that will not make your dream more lucid. They will make them more contollable and less memorable.
