What is the law on employee breaks during the day? Is there one? Does it differ with state? If so... what is it for Texas? Is an employee entitled to a break, and where can I find this info?

There is no law that says that an employer has to give an employee a break during the day. That is up to the employer.

I believe in Texas they have to give you a break if you work 4 or 5 hrs straight.

There are no federal laws requiring breaks of any kind, and Texas does not have any either.

in ohio there is no requirement of an employer to give you a break or lunch....there are some for minor's

Call your local labor board. they can answer any of your qusetions. you should be able to find it online as well. their number should be in the phone book. just went through something like this at my job. Good luck!
