I saw an article about California realtors who sell an average of 5 houses a year, for about $29K/yr. That's not enough for me!

It really depends on which industry within real estate you're asking about. Whether it's sales (residential or commercial), morgages (lender or broker), or any of the other fields in real estate. Also, because commissions are a percentage of sales, generally the more you sell, the more you make or the higher price the homes are in your area, the more you would make.

I am a real estate investor and contractor specializing in residential renovations. Make about 250-300k a year. Near Manhattan.

I'm a Realtor and you can make anywhere from nothing to well over 200k a year. It depends on how hard you work and how much you want to make.
