The Gold Rush - 1925, Charlie Chaplin
The Sound of Music - 1965, Julie Andrews
There are a lot more but Roman Holiday is my all time favourite!

Gone With the Wind
The first time I saw this movie I was blown away. The story is great. The costumes are beautiful. What women wouldn't want to be Scarlett? It's sad, its happy, its comical, its everything you could want in a move. War, romance...its got it all!

Yours, Mine & Ours (with Lucy Ball), it is about a widow and widower falling in love and getting married, but the resulting combined eighteen children make for a hair-raising situation under one roof (I guess you could say it was a fore-runner of The Brady Bunch in the 70's)
