Just be kind, but honest. don't use the cheesy lines....I don't want to ruin the friendship and all that mess. he will be hurt, and will pull away for a while, but don't let him. make an extra effort to spend time with him anyway.

I don't see a problem going out with a 'best friend.' Make sure you're honest and up front with them by telling them it's a platonic relationship ONLY. Don't send out mixed signals. Go out and have fun!

All you can do is be honest. Tell him you're flattered but you value the friendship you both share and don't want to complicate things because you're attracted to someone else. He'll understand (but be prepared for your friendship to need a short break).

tell him. don't say yes hoping that it will all work out because it wont it happened to me and i dint talk to my best friend for the past 7 months it messes up relationships. tell him you still love him as a bff and act on it.

a lot depends on your age. my parents wr best frnds all thru college and for yrs after. they ran in the same crowd, fixed each other up w thr frnds. thn 1 day after 7 yrs, they woke up and realized that what they wr looking for was right there. they are celebrating thr 40th anniv
