its the idea that you have grown up with this person. played with them outside when you were little. shared many precious memories. have a very strong bond as freinds and you trust each other and feel safe and comfortable with him/her and you know the person well enough that it seems so natural

Well, the "boy/girl next door" use to be the girl/boy you would bring home to mama; the one you grew up with and was a friend with when you were a kid. I don't think it involved sex at the time; that was the whole point. It was a pure relationship that turned to love.

Think about it. The actuall concept makes it seem that the girl or boy is very attractive, hot looking person. Its like the person is a freak in bed but the person you want to bring to your parents outside of the bedroom

Safe experimental relationship that CANNOT go anywhere because of TWO sets of hawk-eyed, battle-wise, kill-joy, dictatorially monitoring parents-and no extended windows of opporunity.

Besides, just how involved can a person get with somebody who finked their shooting robins with a pellet-rifle last spring or who got their mudpies for their dolls stolen and then found them in your dog's kennel? --NOT VERY BLOODY LIKELY, I'd say.

So--there it is. It's like having a "sort of" sister or brother that could be OK for fun and games but who is just as off-limits as the real ones because of prevailing conditions.

first of all, it's attractive to all age groups because it's attainable. and something that MIGHT actually happen. personally, i've never had a thing for boy's next door... but i did have a thing for those bad boys. oh, tommy lee you are a god! A GOD!!!
