First, "rich" is subjective.

Secondly, what would happen if medical care was not a lucrative business? More and more people would stop pursuing that line of work and the existing doctors would be expected to work longer and take on more patients than they already do. This is the situation currently with nurses and some are even offering thousands of dollars in bonuses for nurses because it's impossible to fill the shortage.

However, before you petition your Congressmen and women, keep in mind that government employees don't receive the same medical care the rest of us do. They don't understand the problem and aren't interested in regulating health-care because it pays big money for them to turn a blind eye. Sick people can't think too hard about what's happening in the White House (in general, not just this Administration). That's the way they like it.

I think that it is absolutley right for people who are generally above average in intelligence and go to school for 7 years should have a higher income than someone who has not worked as hard to reach their position in life. for the record, I do physical labor for a living, I make a decent living but am not rich. I started college and realized it is not for me, but I respect anyone who can make themselves go to classes and study enough to acheive a degree.
Also, Our medical bills are so high because of the people who do not have insurance and do not pay their medical bills and frivolous lawsuits. The doctors and hospitals have to get the money to pay for the deadbeats who expect to not have to pay their bills from somewhere. Look at someone's bill who went to the hospital on a workman's comp claim sometime, that bill will be ridiculous. It cost me Over $500 for 3 staples in my head when the total time I spent dealing with hospital employees was less than 30 minutes, and 20 of that was with office workers.

Yes, doctors should be allowed to get rich. Think of all the time and education and money they have put into their career. They take unbelievable risks with their patients. The patients literally trust the doctors with their lives. That's a tremendous amount of pressure on them. There's not enough money in the world to make me want to tell someone's family that their loved one died on my watch! Hats off to the doctors. The insurance industry holds doctors hostage. To hell with the medical insurance industry!

Well, considering the cost of medical school and their ability to save lives, yes. This is America, free enterprise and all, I'd prefer rich MDs to RUSSIA.

Yes they went to school and worked hard to become a doctor and they are old before they become rich. They have bills they have to pay like the rest of us. So yes they should become rich because they worked for it.

Yes if they are truely good at their work and they actually care about their patients. Some doctors have lots of money but that is because they have ripped off their patients in the process.

Is that some trick question? That's a definite yeah! They go to school for years and years and miss their family and friends for a better living ($$$) and going to that school isn't cheap either. BIG BUCKS! So they deserve the money.
