That's because it's a Motorola, you couldn't have picked a more worse phone if you tried, beside the fact that its a Motorola, that particular phone wasn't made for power or memory, as the power and memory it does contain has a lot to be desired, the phone was built purely for its looks alone, to impress the eye, unfortunately though the whole world has eyeballed it now, its a has been phone built for style. As for the blue tooth option not just on the v3 or v3i but practically all Motorola models only stays activated and visible for around 1 or 2 minutes at any one time, you do not have the option for your blue tooth to stay visible and active permanently. Bin the useless object and invest in a Sony Eriksson or Samsung mobile phone. Also not only is it used for head sets but all mobile phones that have blue tooth can connect to any other mobile that also has blue tooth within a 10 foot radius of each other, obviously both have to be visible and active, ive sent and received loads of Mp3s, pictures and videos to and from family and friends many times using mobile to mobile blue tooth, best of all it doesn't cost you a penny to do it this way either. Who ever these people are who say you cant have absolutely no bloody idea what there talking about! and obviously do not know there mobile phones very well, hell knows where they get there information from. x

Maybe the other phones don't want to be found. Both of the phones have to be set up to the "find me" thing. I saw this yesterday. My love got that ridiculous, real gold Razr.

You might know this but the other phone's bluetooth has to be switched on to. I've got one of those phones and mine works fine.

Bluetooth allows your phone to connect to bluetooth devices such as a bluetooth wireless headset, not to other phones.

Well I'm sorry to disagree with most of the answers here but my v3i can connect to my brothers samsung d500 no problem at all.
I haven't tried to connect with anything other then my headset and his phone though.
I haven't done anything to the phone either, it's totally standard and connects in the normal way.

Use "find me" when you want other phones to find you ....
I had this problem to start with ......
searching for other devices didnt work too ....
what you need to do is ...
Go to the file/video/sound u want to send , go to options , go to manage , go to copy ( this is telling the phone u wish to copy the file to another phone ) , THEN search for devices and it will find them/it...If you wish to transfer to the same phone again later it's name will be there from the last time ...or if to another phone repeat steps above .
hope this helps you

Your phone is not supposed to find other bluetooth phones, but is supposed to find bluetooth headsets that are either paired to your phone, or which you are trying to pair to your phone.
