Urine should be almost colourless, or very slightly straw-coloured in a person where the kidneys are working normally and there is good hydration.
Darker coloured urine usually happens first thing in the morning, or when you are not drinking enough water. Very dark urine can sometimes have microscopic blood in it and would need to be checked out.
Drink lots of water and then drink some more water.

Well it should be light as most of the answers here have stated, however another reason for dark urine is excess sugar in it which can be caused by diabetes if it is a persistant trend, normally also accompanied by a thirst and a need to pee all the time !

I work in a nursing home and looking at pee is something I have to do. If its light its really good. What you drink does not make a difference to the colour of it. If you don't drink at all then it will be a really dark green/brown colour and this could also be the start of a urinary tract infection. So light green or yellow good, dark colours are bad. hope I helped.

Lighter urine is normal if you have been drinking a lot of fluid. Darker urine is normal if you haven't been drinking a lot of fluids or not enough in the summer. You should strive not to have urine this colour!

My wife had some pain in her stomach around the fifth week of pregnancy. She also noticed when she used the bath room that night that there was a light brown discharge and notified me. We called the doctor office the next day. They stated that as long as she is not having severe pain in her side that they would not need to see her. The doctors office stated that if conditions worsen to come to the hospital. Also you can request the hospital or your ob to do an ultrasound. We had a ultra sound at six weeks and that put my wife and I at ease. We were persistent and they listened by doing a early ultra sound. We will keep your family in our thoughts.

Dark urine normally indicates dehydration, trying drinking more water, and avoid excess alcohol.

The color or concentration of your urine is typically a reflection of your volume status. Dilute or light urine may imply that you are well hydrated whereas dark urine can be indictive of volume depletion or presence of other pigments urine such as bilirubin (a sign of liver disease).

It depends on how dark. Sometimes it'll be a little more darker than usual, depending on what you eat or drink, but as everyone else said, make sure to drink lots of water.
