I loved that show. Early anime, it has some of the most interesting themes in all cartoons. I have been looking for it on DVD but could only find really expensive exports. Thanks for reminding me. =)

Another one of those 'butchered' anime series that made its way to the west. Fortunately in this case, Space Battleship Yamato was not hack and slash ala Robotech so by and large, it was not so bad.
Another one of those classic anime series from the golden years of anime. They just make series like these anymore.

Hell ya! I used to watch the series when it was on regular tv back in 1979-80. I saw the first two seasons, but they didn't show the third at all where I lived.

Yes, when I was a kid I use to watch it every day after school (about 20 years ago). The Argo, the wave motion gun, the Comet Empire, WildStar, Venture and all the rest. It was cool.

Yeah I remember, early 80's..........They had that cannon called the wave motion gun and flew around in space inside a giant battleship. The japanese call it Battleship Yamato.
