A friend had her husband die a couple of years ago. It is appropriate to keep sending her a card for their Wedding Anniversary?

Last year she said "thanks for the card" but then dropped it.

Did she comment on it last year? Does it bring her comfort? It depends on how she feels, what makes her happy.

Why not have her over for dinner and see how she is doing? She might like a night out with your family rather than a card.

I don't think so, but then again I guess it depends on the person. Is she trying to forget about the pain and move on in her life? Or are you just looking for an excuse to contact her? How about a little hand-written note saying you remembered their anniversary and "how about lunch'?

no it is not appropriate you are just reminding her of her lost over and over again, she said thanks because she did not know what else to say. she is not going to forget about her husband but it is best not to send her a wedding anniversary card.

no, she can celebrate that day on her own if she wants, but you as a friend should help her move on. Don't ignore it if she wants to talk about it, but I wouldn't encourage it. If she has parties and stuff each year celebrating the anniversary, have her seek help.

Not anniversary card, but one that says your thinking of her would be nice.

It would be better if you called her or better yet took her out that day. She is prob. feeling extremly sad on days like those.
