I don't think the problem is legal immigration. I think if we were to stop all legal immigration, illegal immigration would only increase.
Also, the idea of stopping legal immigration really concerns me. It is what this country has been founded on and what makes it great. Only a very tiny percent of citizens of this country are descended from people who did not immigrate, unless you count those who immigrated before the US existed. My family immigrated in 1721, so I suppose that would make me a non-immigrant descendant, but I don't see it that way.
