It would depend on what kind of bull.....a domestic bull would be toast if a tiger came calling, but certain wild species could turn the tables and have the tiger plowed under.

In the tiger's homeland of India, there are wild cattle called gaurs - the males can weigh over 2000lbs and having the classic bull temperment, can be quite aggressive. Tigers generally only prey on the calves, then the cows, and then bulls. These wild cattle have also been know to kill tigers.

A similar set up is more easily seen in Africa - lion vs cape buffalo. Cape buffalo are extraordinarily dangerous and have killed more humans that lions have! Lions do prey on these animals, but because they hunt in prides chances of sucess are fairly good. A lone lion, even a fit, prime male, stands little chance at taking down a big buffalo bull. Generally the lion would not even bother....chances of getting seriously wounded or even smashed under hoof and pierced by horn are too great.

So I would say for domestic bulls - tiger wins easily.

For a fully grown healthy bull gaur (or cape buffalo, if there were tigers in Africa) - the bull would trample/gore the cat more often than not.

In India, we have the Gaur (Bos gaurus). It is the largest bovine in the world. It is the not only the largest, but also the strongest among all cattle. And then we have the tiger. And guess what, the tiger regularly feasts on the gaur. So, you can only imagine how quickly the tiget can kill a bull, especially a bull which is not wild and does not know about the tiger.

However, the caveat is that tigers ambush and hence has a distinct advantage. If both the animals are left to fight in the arena, they could be an equal match and a fair one too. However, I still think the tiger will win, because it's crafty enough to overcome the challenge. :)

Of course, like someone above has said, a tiger cannot kill a fully grown adult elephant, though it can cause severe damage to it. But, the two stay away from each other.

Actually a tiger can kill a full grown male Indian elephant. Not very quickly, a fight like this takes all night to win, over 8 hours, but the tiger is so nimble it can dodge the tusks. The elephant bleeds to death. So this makes me think a bull would see the tiger, panic and run, tiger would deliver a death bite. A quick kill.

Tiger. besides being more agile, quicker, and having bloody sharp claws, the bull has less of a motive to kill the tiger. Unless something's seriously messed up. :)

In sheer strength it is the bull. But tiger is so agile that it will attack the neck and insert its canine to gravely hurt the bull and eventually the bull will be defeated and killed.
