I've heard Ethiopians pronounce it E-ri-tir-ia and Americans say E-Ree-Tree-Ah which is correct?

ErItrea, a country in noeast Africa, it's name is Latin for Red Sea. Border countries:Sudan to the west--Ethiopia to the south---Djibouti is so east. Dr.M.Filli.A. says "Most people are not sure as to how to pronounce Eritrea, but everybody knows how to pronounce AIRitrea and that's how Eritrea is pronounced."

Eritrea isn't part of Ethiopia. And when I was in Ethiopia they pronounced it the same way that you are saying American's pronounce it.

In Eritrea, it´s pronounced more like Ertra. And the language is Tigrigna (gn is like cognac.)
