Yes, I do think it is still needed. Can you imagine a kid that's 8 or 9 and steals some candy going to adult jail? When my son was 10 a friend of his dared him to steal a pack of cigarettes and of course he got caught. The court was going to fine ME! I told the judge I didn't do anything and my son should be punished, not me. He sentenced my son to 20 hours of community service. Know what he had to do? Scoop poop at the local dog pound, lol.

Yes it is still needed but it does need some revision done to it . The parents should not be having to foot the bill for crimes the kids commit The kids themselves should be made to do community service or something similar to pay for the damages etc.that they did. I do not think putting kids into the adult prison system is a good idea. But there does need to be some sort of punishment for young offenders that is for certain Having the parents pay for the kids crimes teaches the kids nothing at all

The comments approximately Australia are loopy. They somewhat have been initially a Gun Nut u . s . and protested whilst their government had to take them away. besides the undeniable fact that, they have not had a mass taking photos as a results of fact that 1992 as a consequence and the Australians (even people who protested) will now inform you they sense plenty safer. as properly, no longer all weapons have been taken away; human beings nonetheless have searching rifles and if a nasty guy or boogie guy broke into your place, you're able to nonetheless be able to do loads of injury with a searching rifle. My factor - can we actually need each and every American to have get admission to to gadget weapons and sniper rifles? can no longer we limit specific gun get admission to and in basic terms make hand weapons and searching rifles obtainable? only asserting.

It's not just a good idea, it's necessary. If you believe that childhood is a time for exploration and mistakes, then you should believe in the juvenile justice system.
