Is it in bmp??
Import the pictures to Paint, select save as, and it should let you switch the file type. Select jpeg, gif is a bit smaller but it might lose a little bit of quality. Also, you could try a third party program if its in bmp, such as http://www.flydragonsoft.com/bmp-jpeg-converter.htm
Else, use paint to cut down the picture and make it smaller (such as if its 800x600 pixels try 640x 480, which will also reduce file size)

use the sofware that came with the camera, or software you have on your computer for editing pictures. Change the size to 640x480. Thats good for email, and posting. Hope this helps you.

use photo editing software to reduce the resolution of the photo, or just host the photo elsewhere and refer to it by URL.
