Go to your doctor and ask about a c section. Don't do anything at home!!

Well the ones I heard when I was pregnant were:

-Have sex (or just stimulate the nipples)
-Walk (but don't overdo it on exercise)
-Eat spicy foods
-Have a glass of wine (though I do not recommend that)
-Go for a bumpy car ride

I never tried any of these, but when I was late my doctor decided to schedule me to be induced. I was scheduled for a Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. He told me to take 2 tablespoons of castor oil at 10:00 PM the night before, because it may induce the labor on its own (better than inducing it medically). The castor oil was absolutely disgusting - I chased it down with two glasses of water a cup of tea and was up quite a bit urinating that night.

However, the next morning I went to the hospital as scheduled. When they put the monitor on me, it started beeping - I was already having minor contractions that I was not yet feeling! They also had me walk around the hallways to speed up the progression of labor. Thus I did not need pitocin (though they did end up breaking my water later on). It may have been a coincidence, maybe I would have gone into labor anyway. Or maybe the castor oil worked. I'll never know, but I guess it's worth a try.

Good luck to you. I wish you a healthy and safe labor with a healthy and safe baby.

Hang in there girl. You're not suppose to go in labor until week 40. You have 3 more weeks to go unless your doctor find you and your baby are harm in some way, then he would give a go ahead for inducing labor. In the mean time, you can try to walk, lot of walks will help you ease the labor.
Try not to think of how much your son is hurting you, but how much you would enjoy his company once he has arrived. His little face, little fingers holding your fingers and not letting go.....
If you cannot lay down to get comfortable, how about sitting up? Get pillows, lots of pillows.....arrange them against your headboard or walls.....enough so you can haft laying and haft sitting. Another way is sitting/laying in your bathtub with the right tempt to sooth you and relax you.........
Good luck!

There are not many ways to induce labor without medical assistance. I read somewhere that you can have an acupuncturist do it, and I know that there are various herbs etc that you can take, but taking the herbal concoctions can be very dangerous. I tried drinking cod liver oil, going for walks, having sex, climbing up and down stairs, driving along bumpy roads, etc, etc, etc ... none of it worked (although the cod liver oil ut me on the toilet for quite some time!!).

If you are really at the end of your rope, see your OBGYN and DEMAND to be induced. It's your body, and you're paying the bills, so they have no right to tell you that they won't do it if you believe that you are physically and/or emotionally unable to continue.

You have made it this far, and now want to take matters into your own hands from advice of a total stranger on an answer website?

Discuss this with your doctor, I am sure if there were problems he would have suggested inducing the labor

lots of walking, castor oil in orange juice, or since you're soo far along maybe even intercourse. Although you may just want to see if you can get your doctor to opt for early induction of labor since you are soo close to term. My first child was way too big and i was way too small also, my doctor induced and i still had an emergency cesarean section. Definitely talk to your doctor first.

Oh please!! You have 3 more weeks to go. Having a baby before term would be considered a permie. Did you expect the end of pregnancy to be a joyful ride. Some women will be very uncomfortable towards the end. Talk to your doctor. This is advice I would not share even if I knew the answer.

i there with you dear i hear that you should walk alot but im going to tell you something my grandma told me she did.. she said she took a laxative and it made everything so relaxed and when she would go to the bathroom the baby dopped farther and farther, not saying you should do that but thought it was kinda funny. She induced her own labor lol... good luck

Go see a doctor. My ex gf's sister actually had to get a chopstick stuck up her to break the water, and then the baby came right out.

I'm not being a perv, but I've heard that lots of sex can help bring on labor. Also, I've heard that walking at a brisk pace for a while can help too.
