I've had a couple of jobs where the existing staff felt compelled to put all newbies through the ringer. If you can tough it out, it usually gets better. However, a well-managed work environment doesn't usually have that kind of atmosphere, so you're probably seeing symptoms of a much larger problem in that workplace. It may be the reason the person who held the position before you left. If you have marketable skills, you might want to continue looking for a job.
If you are in a job only a short period of time, it's not always a great idea to put it on your resume, since it can signal to prospective employers that you don't stay in a job very long. If you decide to look elsewhere, keep that in mind if you continue to work in your current position while you job search. If you have nothing at stake, it may help you get through your days a bit more easily, and encourage you to stand up to those who are mistreating you. Good luck.

I love my job. Things will get better. Maybe you should find another job. When you work with the public....the customer comes first....so expect to get fussed at, called stupid, etc.....anyone who has worked with the public will tell you they have been through it. Try not to wear your heart on your sleeve....in other words, dont take it personally...its just woking with people is a pain sometimes. Kindness always kill though, so just try to bite your tongue and be nice. Do your job as best you can. If you still think you need a new job, start looking for another one BEFORE you quit,.....that way you wont be jobless. It doesnt take courage to go to work every day...it takes maturity.I work because I have to, and most people would agree.

This is such a good question. That typical work-a-day world that you describe so well, I never learned to do it, and I always wondered how so many people do stand it. Stand up to it. Do not allow yourself to be treated this way. Money cannot possibly be worth it. Quit that disgusting environment. Find your passion, do what you are really good at. Let the money come in it's own good time. I'd rather be poor and love what I do than have tons of money and stuff and be treated like my life is not important. But, even better than that, I'd like to do what I love to do and make plenty of money doing it. There are some very successful people who love what they do, so I personally am trying to be one of those, why not?

Well most people who work are miserable with thier jobs but the fact is that in this society you have to work to live. Most people don't have someone handing them money to pay bills and such. Not to mention a lot of people have children and no matter how horrible your job is the thought of your children starving on the street is always more horrible than the job.

no one should be treated like that...that boss's attitude is inexcusable and i feel for ya. it is a dog-eat-dog world out there. i have seen it in my own office-lots of us have cried. but that doesn't solve anything. be resolute and never let them see you upset again. if you can't report that boss for harrassment to anyone there, maybe there is somewhere else you could call & report anonymously. believe me, there is nothing wrong with you. I was really unhappy one day when all of these accounts got dumped onto me when someone is leaving & they're not hiring a replacement...but i thought about it, slept on it, and i know that i am doing a good job, and since i haven't found a better one, i am going to make myself happy about it. Try to be as happy as you can in spite of that boss. good luck!

This is pretty normal. You just grow a thick skin after a while. Or, if you have the time and money (to search, to go through training, to relocate if necessary), look for a job you think you would really enjoy.

i've had bosses like that, what makes me go everyday is me calculating in my head how much i am getting paid every single hour, i think to myself that's another 10 dollars for me but i think, believe it or not some people have it worse. maybe you should switch jobs, the stress isnt worth it. ps i've since quit that job, but after a year of harrassment

Many hate their jobs but they learn to deal with it or get a new one. If it is a job that you are committed to for a spell, thicken your skin and learn not to take everything personal. Also stay to yourself and don't try and make friends right away. Observe and keep note. Once you are familiar, you'll know who to deal and how.

Most people who work at the same place will complain, I hate my job because technology changes everyday, and I can't keep up. The best thing to do is fight your feelings and go to work everyday.
