She was a preemie. Has a feeding tube, and poops every five minutes. She doesn't have the runs, as this is her norm. I have used a&d, desitin, all other diaper rash creams available, some hospital grade burn creams, cornstarch, powder,i have even tried lanisoh(nipple cream for breastfeeding mothers). It will get less red but never goes away. The doctors are baffled.

It could be yeast. This is particularly likely if it is red and bumpy. You may need to try an antifungal cream on it. A yeast rash may never clear up without the proper medication.

One thing I didn't see addressed in any of the answers. Are you using disposable diapers? If so, switch to cloth diapers, they don't have all the chemicals and so forth in them that your baby may be alergic to.
Cloth diapers also let your baby's bottom breathe better than disposables. You can lay her on a blanket or something that you don't worry about her getting wet, and leave off the plastic pants that would normally cover the diaper. This will help her little bottom get some fresh air and help to keep her drier between changes until the rash clears up.
After the rash is gone, then you can use the cloth diapers at home and try the disposables when you go out, just make sure she isn't alergic.
Good luck.

well you may want to try a different brand of diaper, that could be what is causing it, or helping to cause it. you could also try putting her in a tub with a few tablespoons of baking soda, that is what i was told to do by a nurse when my daughter had diaper rash really bad. the baking soda will dry it out and help clear it up. another thing you may want to try, it sounds crazy but it may help. put some liquid maalox or any brand liquid antacid, you just put a little on a cotton ball and put it on her bottom, what it does is makes a barrier against the acids in her stool. when i first heard it i thought it was crazy, but it helped, this is also something a nurse told me. and as you probably already do, always keep some diaper rash cream on her bottom, especially at night. oh and another thing that helps, dont use baby wipes on her bottom, use a warm wash cloth or stick her in the shower really quick to clean her off, the wipes make a film that can cause more rash. and if it has any little red bumps it is a yeast infection, and it wont go away without some kind of antifungal, you would have to go to a doctor for that. good luck.

Well first use warm wash cloth to wipe her butt with not a wipe, second when giving a bath let her bottom soak but a void using soap on it, let her butt dry by letting her roll around naked (no diaper) on something that you don't mind if she pees or even poops on. Diaper rash is usually caused by th runs so get Pedialyte and to her bottles, when her butt is nice and dry add a little Desitin to red area put a diaper on when diaper rash is all cleared up, use cornstarch baby powder every change. And Good Luck!

My daughter only had diaper rash one time in her whole infant days.
Here are my suggestions as worked in less than 48 hours after starting the process.
1st--Use a warm wet wash cloth (not wipes) to wipe her when you change her diaper.
2nd--With a hand towel or recieving blanket dab her dry completly before putting a diaper on. Dont rub as this will cause her to break out more.
3rd--Put her diaper on loosly as possible. I always kept my daughter in a size too big so it wasn't rubbing her. A onsie will help hold her diaper on.
4th--Make sure her clothes are not too small. If they are tight around the bottom area then this can/will cause a diaper rash too as it constantly rubs the diaper against her bottom.
I also used pampers diapers as all of my family did b/c it never broke anyone in my family out and caused the least diaper rashes. I never used wipes only wet wash clothes and also dried her before putting a diaper on her.
Vasoline will also help protect the skin that has a rash on it so it will heal faster.
Orange Juice/Acid Juices, rasins, oranges, cranberries, etc cause diaper rashes.
She could also have an alergic reaction to a food you are feeding her. Start giving her only one kind of food for 3-5 days then add something new and wait 3-5 days before adding something different to her diet. By waiting 3-5 days before adding something new you can rule out an allergy.

Have you tried Calmoseptine? You can get it at the pharmacy (ask the pharmacist for it). It's over the counter, but they keep it behind the counter for some reason.
This works wonders with my boys when they get a rash. You can also use it as a protective layer to prevent diaper rash. It's incredibly thick, and assuming she only pees, it'll last through multiple diaper changings.

If you have a barn or storage shed (or know someone who does), try to find a dirt dobber's nest. If you find one knock it down and put it in a cloth diaper. Using a hammer or something hard, pound it until it is broken up. While it is still in the cloth diaper, or an old tee shirt, lightly dust your baby with it as if it were baby powder. It sounds horrible I know but it works!!!!

Heres a couple ideas: 1. Try mixing Maalox with some vaseline (this works for red little butts by neutralizing the acid and burn) also the vaseline keeps the pee off and makes it easier to wipe poop off. 2. At the Medicine Shoppe they sell this stuff called Triple Paste and it is amazing. 3. Bordeau's Butt Paste also works well.

Let her go naked as much as possible. The diaper rash is caused by moisture against the skin whether it be urine or just plain sweat. Or your daughter may have an underlying skin condition. Either way contact your pediatrician for advice.

ask your ped - but we used 1/2% cirtizone cream and baby powder wiyj our son and it worked. It could also be a yeast infection - looks similiar to diaper rash - you will need and anti-bacterial cream to cure that.
