I design cars for a living, and this just dawned on me. Instead of submiting my own ideas to companies, how about I let the people of YAHOO! come up with their own ideas! Tell me the features you want on the car, optional and standard, colors, materials, wheels, and anything else. If I Like What I See, I'll Get In Touch With You. And, here's the fun part. If your design is the winner, you will be entered to recieve a FREE* car that you designed!

People are getting bigger, taller and heavier. Vehicles need to have the room for people to be comfortable. The popularity of SUVs is related to the fact that people do not want to be jammed into a small space!

Power is important, as is reliability. Controls need to be mounted where they are easy to operate. Driver's visibility is very important, you want to reduce or eliminate any driver's blind spots.

I would want a vehicle that has a five star safety rating. I would also want the vehicle to have an E80 ethanol rating. For an environmentally friendly vehicle. I would have a standard transmission for fuel ecanomy. Fairly aerodynamic body for smooth cruising. Big enough for a family. Sto & Go seating for convenience. 6 Disk CD changer. AM FM Stereo. Cruise control for long trips. Radar Detector would be nice. Voice GPS. Talking alarms for lights not off, key in ignition, hazards on, etc. Some sort of design that would be cheap on the insurance. Audible weather reports. Audible road condition reports. Sensors for space cushioning. (Must of this would be nice, however will dramatically increase the price of a vehicle.)

They should have micro-filters; racing harness rather than shoulder straps; cruise control; large enough to make out in the back seat; hatchbacks should have seats that EITHER fold forward for cargo space or fold back for resting/make-out space; car should be a multi-fuel hybrid that gets AT LEAST a legitimate 50 MPG, although it would be acceptable to get somewhat less at speeds greater than 55 MPH; plexiglass roof like old 1950s vision of cars with a jet-type cowling, possibly tinted--covers the car like a dome with no obstructions to vision; should have a high enough wheel base/clearance to off-road, and low enough center of gravity not to flip; automatic windows with manual backup; powered assist brakes and steering, rather than fully powered; everything under the hood should be arranged so that it is easy for a person to work on it himself, and with the tires that don't go flat when punctured. It should look cool and retro-futuristic.

I want a hybrid with the power of a V8 and doesn't look like an
alien space craft. I would also like for it to look sporty, be rear
wheel/ 4 wheel drive, comfortably seat at least 4, and have trunk
space.

I myself have simple tastes. A small SUV type sports car with conventional power outlets and massage pads on the seats and a small fridge installed. XM radio and a usb drive for mp3 players.
